Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Globowl, a leading provider of nutritious, ready-to-eat meals packaged in eco-friendly containers, faces a critical growth challenge: How can the company expand in a way that maximizes accessibility to all demographics while maintaining its commitment to quality and sustainability?

Despite making strides by offering HSA/FSA eligibility and partnering with SNAP-accepting retailers, Globowl's current retail price of $5.99 per jar remains a barrier for many potential consumers. The goal is to grow in a way that reduces costs while maintaining the highest quality standards (organic certification, clean label, non-GMO) and sustaining their environmentally conscious packaging (glass jars, lids, labels).
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
To address these challenges, the project will focus on the following areas:

  1. Revenue and Funding Growth:
    • Identifying strategic ways to increase revenue or secure funding to support large-scale production.
    • Exploring avenues for investment, partnerships, and grants focused on sustainability and food accessibility.

  2. Cost Optimization Through Scaling:
    • Investigating opportunities to buy raw materials in bulk (organic-certified foods, packaging) to reduce unit costs without compromising quality.
    • Analyzing supply chain efficiencies and partnerships to reduce costs related to glass jars, lids, labels, and certifications (clean label project and organic).

  3. Educational & Brand Awareness Campaigns:
    • Developing a plan to raise awareness of Globowl’s disruptive role in the market, emphasizing its nutritional value and eco-friendly packaging-- good for the planet and good for baby (no micro or nano plastics!)
    • Exploring strategies to increase demand across a wider demographic range by positioning Globowl as a healthy, sustainable choice in local retailers.

  4. Scaling Production to Expand Accessibility:
    • Identifying ways to produce more while ensuring that scaling does not affect product integrity or sustainability initiatives.
    • Collaborating with distributors and retailers to create a pricing strategy that allows cost savings to be passed on to the end consumer.

  5. Sustainability Certification and Compliance:
    • Mapping out a step-by-step guide to acquire and maintain certifications that bolster brand trust and marketability, such as Clean Label and Organic certifications, and California's 899 Bill.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
  • Identification of areas where Globowl can enhance sustainability and social impact.
  • Development of a clear strategy that balances social responsibility, environmental impact, and financial growth.
  • Presentation of recommendations that align with Globowl’s brand values and market opportunities.
