| Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity |
- Develop a 5-year Strategic Plan (2025-2030) for the Urban League of Greater Hartford (ULGH).
- CEO David Hopkins joined the organization in 2019, and drafted a 5-year plan that applied for 2019 thru 2024.
- Most of the Plan’s 10 goals have been achieved and helped stabilize the organization and position it for growth.
- After 4 consecutive years of expense management, revenue growth, staffing increases and critical operating enhancements, the next 5 years will require more refined and tactical strategic action.
- The NYU/Wagner consultants would help develop 10 new goals for the revised plan.
|
| Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required |
- Meet with the consultants to familiarize them with the current plan, ULGH programming and operations, the Hartford region and the Board of Directors.
- Determine community needs, market trends (including other best practices by similar nonprofits) and stakeholder priorities.
- Conduct listening sessions regarding the CEO vision, Board of Director priorities, and program area impact goals.
- Collaborate to determine the 10 highest priority strategic goals for the 5-year period.
|
| Project Synopsis: Expected Results |
- If the CEO can lead the program managers to execute his vision and the Board of Directors can meet their duty.
- If each of the 10 strategic goals are attainable, aspirational, and measurable.
- If the new strategic plan becomes a basic “north star compass point” that helps ULGH stay focused on achieving its highest priority goals.
