Engaging and managing volunteers in a consistent fashion is one of the top issues that nonprofits encounter today. Cultivating ambassadors is not only good for an organization's brand, it builds a base of activists that can spread a brand's work far and wide. Evermore aims to develop an advocacy-based talent management and retention strategy that uses 1) messaging to inspire engagement, 2) technology solutions to activate and inform our base and 3) programming opportunities to cultivate ambassadors within their communities.

Phase One - Deep dive into Evermore
General understanding of the issue, our work, our success, and future directions. 

  1. What are the roles and responsibilities for advocates? 
  2. How do we protect the confidentiality of the organization and its participants? 
  3. What are their qualifications or what is their basic knowledge of government operations? Is a tutorial required? Is there an open-source learning tool we can use? 
  4. How are the advocates managed? Who do they report to? 
  5. Are there different ranks of advocates? 
  6. How are they evaluated? How do they advance? 
  7. What are the best measures for gaining insight into satisfaction and engagement? 
  8. How do we measure satisfaction? Can you create a survey tool?

Phase Two - Make Recommendations for Advocate Retention Strategy
Now that we have a general understanding of the organization, how do we construct a retention strategy.

  1. How do we optimize advocate/volunteer management with as little staff time as possible?
  2. What are short-term, low-hanging or immediate strategies/tactics that can be invoked? 
  3. What are long-term strategies/tactics?  
  4. Are there any cost drivers associated with the recommendations? Is so, what are they? 
  5. What are he key performance indicators you recommend to assess the success of these strategies?
