Project Title Compare Expansion in India vs. Expansion in US
Project Topics Growth Strategy Marketing Research & Development
Skills & Expertise
Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Little Land Play Gym, a growing children’s developmental franchise, has successfully expanded across the U.S. and into China. As part of its next phase of global expansion, the company is actively exploring entry into the Indian market through a Master Franchise model. India’s large and rapidly growing middle-class population, along with increasing focus on early childhood education and development, represents a promising market opportunity.

This project invites a graduate student team to support Little Land in evaluating regional market potential, understanding consumer demand, and developing a go-to-market strategy to identify and attract ideal Master Franchise partners.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
  1. Conduct a national and regional market analysis of India, including demographic, economic, and cultural indicators relevant to Little Land’s offerings.
  2. Assess consumer demand for children’s developmental programs, therapy services, and enrichment classes across diverse regions.
  3. Identify and segment potential target regions for phased market entry.
  4. Develop a territory allocation model, estimating how many outlets could be sustained in each region based on population density, income levels, and service demand.
  5. Research characteristics and behaviors of qualified Master Franchise candidates in India and propose an investor outreach strategy.
  6. Recommend marketing and positioning strategies tailored to Indian consumer and investor profiles.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
  • Completion of a regional market opportunity map for India.
  • Evidence-based estimate of viable territories and projected outlet count.
  • Market demand analysis supported by data and benchmarks from comparable services.
  • Defined Master Franchisee profile and partnership criteria.
  • Recommended outreach strategy for attracting potential franchise partners.
  • Strategic roadmap for phased expansion and launch planning.
