| Project Title | Suspended Pedestrian Bridge Design For Underserved Communities |
| Project Synopsis |
What is the challenge or opportunity you are trying to address within your organization?
The overarching goal of our program is to connect students and communities through collaborative bridge building. Isolation caused by impassable rivers is a root source of poverty all over the world. Fueled by the passion of university students and the wisdom of our local partners, we build footbridges with isolated communities to ensure they have year-round safe access to essential resources such as education, healthcare, and markets. In a suspended pedestrian bridge project, students will go through 3 major phases, with 3 associated submissions. In Review Call 1, they will present a conceptual design for their project showing geometric constraints and a plan for stakeholder engagement. In Review Call 2, they will presented a detailed drawing set and material estimate. In Review Call 3, they will present the construction and safety management plan.
What are some of the activities or action items you think will need to be taken to achieve your desired results? What would make this project a success for your organization? What measurable results are you looking to accomplish? |
