About The Osborne Association
Founded in 1933, the Osborne Association is one of NYS’s oldest and most comprehensive criminal justice reform and reentry organizations, serving approximately 18,000 individuals and family members annually. Osborne operates across 39 of the state’s 41 correctional facilities, all Rikers Island jails, and community sites throughout NYC and NYS, delivering services that span the full continuum of justice involvement. Its work reaches multiple generations, from children with incarcerated parents to older adults returning home after decades in prison, with a focus on advancing safety, dignity, and opportunity.
Osborne’s Center for Justice Across Generations (OCJAG) is our policy arm dedicated to building a society and justice system that promotes healing, safety, accountability, and real opportunities to thrive. OCJAG’s state level parole reform priorities include passing the Elder Parole and Fair and Timely Parole Bills to promote fair and safe parole for older adults. OCJAG draws on the experience of participants in Osborne’s Elder Reentry Initiative and reentry housing to fuel its advocacy in this area.
