Case Competitions involve a select number of student teams, who work in parallel on a particular business challenge to bring the best solution to the Industry Partner Company. Case Competitions encourage students to give their best effort to beat out their competition in hopes of becoming hired with your organization!

Case Competitions involve a select number of student teams, who work in parallel on a particular business challenge to provide the Industry Partner with the best solution. Case Competitions encourage students to give their best effort to beat out their competition in hopes of becoming hired with an organization!
CapSource’s internships are customizable, project-based programs designed to help employers select, qualify, and hire top talent. This gives you a chance to make connections with current students and give them and yourself a chance to test the waters with a real project. If you’re impressed with the students’ performance, extend them an offer for a full-time position!
CapSource’s internships are customizable, project-based programs designed to help employers select, qualify, and hire top talent. This gives you a chance to have a facilitated connection with a real-world company and showcase your skill set, and perhaps get hired for a full-time position.
- To view the Case Competition library:
- Begin at your Dashboard.
- Navigate to “Case Competitions” from the sidebar on the left-hand side of your screen.
- Once you are at the Case Competitions landing page, select the button labeled “Browse Case Competition Listings.”
- From here, you can see all Case Competitions present on the CapSource platform.
- Case Competitions have two methods for enrollment: Open Enrollment, or Application-based.
- If the case is Open Enrollment, you can freely join them by navigating to the Case Competitions page, and then clicking the “Browse Case Competition Listings” button. Find the program that suits your needs and desires and join from the case’s Overview page.
- If the case is Application-based, once you find the program you are interested in, navigate to its Overview page, and click “Apply”. This will carry you forward through the application process, where you will be provided with a Case Assessment to complete as part of your application.
- Begin at your company’s Dashboard.
- Select “Case Competitions” from the left-hand sidebar
- Select the “Create Case Competition” button
- Choose your company, or another company you are affiliated with to sponsor the Case Competition
- Title your Case Competition program
- Write an overview for your Case Competition
- Choose an enrollment type for your Case Competition program
- Open Enrollment
- Student Application
- Case Assessment necessary
- Choose a minimum and maximum number of students for each team taking part in your program
- Choose the duration of your program (Start date and End date)
- Choose the level of commitment you desire from students/teams
- Choose the method of work for your program (Fully Remote, Hybrid, On-site) and Location Preferences (Local, Regional, Located Anywhere)
- Pick the desired experience level that students enrolled in your program are expected to have
- Select the topics covered by your program
- Proceed to create your own Case Assessment, or choose from the template library that’s readily available.
Case Assessments are Partner-created, preliminary case studies used as a means of application for students seeking to enter Internship programs. Industry Partners responsible for managing the program will review your Case Assessment submission and your resume and decide on whether or not to accept you to their program.
- Begin at your company’s Dashboard.
- Navigate to the “Internships” tab via the sidebar on the left side of the screen.
- From here, you can:
- View the Internship directory to see what kinds of projects other companies are posting on the platform.
- Browse Case Assessments used as a means of application to Internship programs.
- From here, you can:
- Click the orange “Create Internship” button. This will launch the Internship Builder, which will guide you through the process of creating your Internship program:
- Select the company that you wish to create the program under.
- Create a title for your Internship program.
- Write an overview to describe what Students can expect when they apply to your Internship program.
- Select a start and end date for your program, as well as a start and end date for the application period.
- Select a level of commitment that you’d expect students to exhibit while a part of your Internship program.
- Select your workplace and location preferences.
- Select the form of compensation that students will receive upon being accepted to your program.
- Choose the post-program hiring options available. This can be anything from a follow-on project to an upper-level full time position.
- Select the topics relevant to the work that will be completed during the Internship. This will help students to filter the Internship directory and lead them to your program if they show interest in a topic that you include in this list.
- Review the Internship before moving on to the Case Assessment section of the Internship builder.
- To create a Case Assessment, you can either create a totally new one, or start by using a template.
- If you decide to use a template, the Internship Builder will bring up the Case Assessment Template Directory, from which you can preview all templates, decide whether they’re a good starting point, and customize them to fit your needs and prerequisites desired.
- If you decide to create a completely new template, the Internship Builder will lead you through the following steps:
- Title your Case Assessment
- Write a Case Assessment Overview
- Create a Deliverable which will be used to gauge prerequisite knowledge
- Includes a Deliverable title and instructions.
- Select the topics relevant to your Case Assessment
- Add any resources or documentation you feel may be necessary to clarify Case Assessment items, tasks, or general questions. This can be in the form of a file or a link to a webpage.
- The last step in creating an Internship Program is to create a Project:
- Click the “Build a Project” button, and you will be guided through the process, with steps similar to the Case Assessment steps listed above.
- You can select a template from the Project Template Library,
- or you can create a new Project from scratch with all original material.
- Click the “Build a Project” button, and you will be guided through the process, with steps similar to the Case Assessment steps listed above.
- Once all of the above are complete, you will have a fully fleshed-out Internship program viewable via your Dashboard/Internships page.
- Begin at your Dashboard.
- Navigate to the “Internships” tab.
- Select the “Browse Internship Listings” button.
- From here, you will be able to filter the Internship directory based on what you’re looking for from the program.
- You can filter by topic, so if you’re interested in something specific, choose that topic, and only Internships which revolve around that topic will be displayed for you.
- You can also filter by Growth Stage. Depending on whether you want to intern with a Small/Large company or a Startup.
- Once you’ve found a program you think you’d like to take part in, select “View Internship”.
- After landing on the Internship program’s homepage, click the “Apply” button near the top right corner to proceed to submission of your resume and Case Assessment.
- Case Assessments are case studies used as a means of application for students seeking to enter Internship programs.
- Case Assessments can be created while creating your Internship program by means of using a template and customizing it, or by creating a totally new Case Assessment, if your company has specific prerequisites for your program.

- Yes! Begin at your Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Case Competitions page from the sidebar.
- Select the “Browse Case Competition Listings” button.
- Navigate to the search bar, and type your desired company’s name in. If that does not produce any results, that particular company may not have any active Case Competition programs.
- Begin at your Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Case Competitions page via the left-hand sidebar.
- Select the Case Competition program for which you’d like to review deliverables.
- Near the top, select the “Projects” tab to view all sub-projects that are a part of the Case Competition. Select the corresponding project.
- Like in step d., you will see a “Deliverables” tab near the top of the page.
- Here you will see all submissions for each timeline item. You can proceed by clicking the file name present in the row corresponding to a certain team’s submission.
- This will open up a view where you can open the submission in a new tab, and you can answer 2 questions and provide feedback for the team to review for their next submission.
- Begin at your Dashboard.
- Navigate to the “Internships” page via the sidebar on the left side of the screen.
- Under “Your Internships” you will see the names of all currently active Internships your company has running.
- Select “View Applicants” in the row corresponding to the Internship Program you’d like to accept students to.
- From there, you will see a list of all Students’ names who have sent an application to your program. Click “View Application” in the row corresponding to the Student’s application that you’d like to review.
- Once your decision is made, you can then return to the Applicants list, and click either the “Send Offer”, or “Decline” buttons to give the Student notice of your decision.
- Navigate to your organization’s Case Competitions homepage via the left-hand sidebar on your Dashboard.
- Select the “Published” tab.
- Navigate to the desired Case Competition program under “Published Listings.”
- Click the “View Applicants” arrow to see a full list of student applications ready to review with student profiles, and their Case Assessment submissions.

- Select the Internship program for which you’d like to review deliverables.
- Near the top, select the “Deliverables” tab to view all Timeline items that are a part of your Internship program.
- Navigate to the Timeline item that you’d like to review.
- Proceed by clicking the file name present in the row corresponding to a certain team’s submission.
- This will open up a view where you can open the submission in a new tab, and you can answer 2 questions and provide feedback for the team to review for their next submission.

- Once you’ve included all relevant files, links, etc., click the “Submit Assignment” button in the bottom right corner of the view to upload your documents for Mentor review.

- Navigate to the Case Competitions landing page via the left-hand sidebar.
- Select the Case Competition you are looking to submit a deliverable for.
- Select the “Projects” tab present near the top of your screen, and select the Project for which you’d like to submit a deliverable.
- Select the “Milestones & Deliverables” tab. This will bring up all Timeline items along with the assignment, and their due dates.
- Select the Timeline item that you’d like to submit your deliverable for.

- Select the name of the Case Competition Program you’d like to invite a mentor to.
- Navigate to the “Mentors” tab.
- From this step, there are two options:
- The desired mentor has an CapSource account already:
- Click the “Add New” button under the “Industry Mentor Information” section.
- Search for your desired mentor’s name in the box, click the correct result (email addresses are shown next to the User’s name.
- Select the “Add” button, and your mentor will be added to your program.
- The desired mentor does not have a current CapSource account:
- Click the “Invite” link/button next to the + icon.
- Directly type the email address of the Mentor you wish to invite. They will be sent an email guiding them through the sign-up process, and when they have completed the registration, they will be added as a mentor to your program.
- The desired mentor has an CapSource account already:
- Begin at your Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Case Competitions landing page via the left-hand sidebar.
- Select the Case Competition for which you are looking to review deliverable feedback.
- Select the “Projects” tab present near the top of your screen, and select the Project for which you’d like to view deliverable feedback.
- Select the “Milestones & Deliverables” tab. This will bring up all Timeline items along with the assignment, and their due dates.
- Navigate to the Timeline item for which you’d like to review feedback.
- Click the “View Feedback” link near the right side of that Deliverable’s box.
- Once your Mentor has received and assessed your work for that Timeline item, their feedback will appear in a box in the front of your screen for you to review.
- Begin at your organization’s Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Case Competitions page from the sidebar.
- Select the “Published” tab to view the Case Competitions that your organization has added to the CapSource platform.
- Select the name of the Case Competition Program you’d like to invite a mentor to.
- Navigate to the “Mentors” tab.

- Click the “Add New” button under the “Industry Mentor Information” section.

- Once you see the “Program Info” tab, navigate to and click the pencil & paper icon in the top right corner of the table. This will bring you back into the Case Competition Builder where you can make any changes necessary.
- If your program is published but not active, find it under the “Published” tab.
- Select the name of the Case Competition that you’d like to edit.
