FISLL is a purpose-driven lifestyle brand rooted in the values of Faith, Integrity, Sacrifice, Love, and Legacy. FISLL has launched a powerful Black History Collection to celebrate and amplify Black voices, culture, and history while fostering social and economic mobility in the Black community.

This case centers on purpose-driven product design, brand storytelling, and socially conscious entrepreneurship. Students will explore how merchandise can function not only as a commercial product, but also as a cultural and narrative vehicle that amplifies identity, history, and community impact. 

  •  Analyze and align product design decisions with FISLL’s core values: Faith, Integrity, Sacrifice, Love, and Legacy 
  •  Conduct audience research to understand the motivations, preferences, and behaviors of consumers of purpose-driven brands 
  •  Translate cultural themes and historical narratives into meaningful, marketable product concepts 
  •  Develop creative merchandising ideas that balance authenticity, differentiation, and commercial viability 
  •  Create detailed product mockups and descriptions that communicate both aesthetic and symbolic value 
  •  Design storytelling-driven marketing strategies that connect emotionally with audiences and amplify cultural significance 
  •  Explore digital and grassroots marketing channels (e.g., social media, influencers, community events) to drive awareness and engagement 
  •  Develop sales and distribution strategies that consider accessibility, brand positioning, and scalability 
  •  Identify partnership and collaboration opportunities that enhance credibility and community impact 
  •  Integrate business strategy with social impact by designing products that contribute to cultural awareness and economic empowerment
